• Question: how do cockroaches survive radiation

      Actually, it’s a bit of a myth that cockroaches would be able to survive a nuclear blast. It’s true that they can withstand a much higher dose of radiation than humans (somewhere between 6 and 15 times as much) but so can lots of insects! In fact the little fruit fly can withstand more radiation than the cockroach!

      The reason insects are better at surviving radiation than us is because cells are only at risk from radiation when they’re dividing. Because insects’ cells only divide when they molt, they are at less risk than humans.

      Cockroaches, flies– they are very small in size as compare to radiation or any bigger effects like volcano erruption……so as per my knowledge they can easily survive…
