Easily. You need to get good GCSE results and then take A Levels or a similar course in preferably scientific subjects. Then complete a scientific degree.

It might be easiest to study Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics after year 11, but I studied Mathematics, Biology, Music, Graphic Design and General Studies and then did a Mathematics degree

Since you are only in year 7 though as a start you might want to check out the Royal Society summer science festival. This is held from 3 – 8 July at the Royal Society’s main premises in central London. Otherwise there is the Cheltenham Science Festival which I have not attended but I hear it is good.

Finally there is lots about science on research blogs which might give you some inspiration.

Just as Mae said, study steadily, do the right A-levels, and then do the right degree for you. Choosing is the hard part!

The other two bits of advice I would give are:
      1) Try to get some experience of the job you have in mind, e.g. through summer placement schemes: it will help translate your imagination of what the job is like into reality
      2) Bear in mind that you might change your mind later about what you want to do in life. People change a lot between the age of 15 and 40. So hedge your bets in terms of what skills you train yourself in.

Generally speaking though, a career in science is a good one. The work is interesting, you are quite employable, and the pay can be good.

Good choice! I can’t say much more than the others. Just work hard, and talk to other scientists (which you are already doing). Also, always keep asking yourself “why”, whether your favourite science is physics, chemistry or biology – be curious, and ask why things are the way they are.

Hi Heaven, really good question..My advice is to keep interested in science…get good results in GCSE and choose science subjects(as per your interest) and do well..you can go for graduation and post graduation with particular specialization in scientific subjects….In between you can apply for work experience in hospitals or pharmaceutical companies or any science research firms related to your field….I am sure this will help you out….All the very best…
