Seeing is believing….I always think if you see something happening with your eyes you will understand better rather than just reading text books…My workshop or student lab tours are really helping them making their mind about further career..we have got really good positive feedback from those students who have attended our labs…..Younger people always have curious mind and if they see such kind of practical labs, meet real world scientist; I am sure they will believe that science is so easy and simple..just require working harder and smarter with your brain…

I think getting work experience and visiting labs is really important to ensure that you understand exactly what a career entails day-to-day. How can you be expected to know what you want to do for a living if you’ve never had the chance to do it?!

Also, TV programmes and the media sometimes give a false impression of what a job s like (I wanted to be a forensic scientist for ages cos of programmes like CSI! Then I visited the labs and it was completely different!).

So for me the visits are more about showing people the ‘truth’ of science, so that they can decide for themselves whether it’s something they want.
