Feeling like you are a boy when you have the DNA that makes you a girl is a well known condition called Gender dysphoria. Whether you feel in your mind that you are a boy or a girl is known as Gender Identity.

I do not have this condition and so I never experienced these feelings. If you do experience these feelings then you can go to a gender identity clinic and see two types of doctor.
One who looks after your feelings and one who tries to understand your hormones which can affect your biological sex.

I’ve always felt proud to be a girl, but that doesn’t mean to say I haven’t wondered what it would be like to be a boy. In fact, just the other night me and my friends were discussing the things we’d do if we could be a boy for a day, and we decided we’d probably need more like a week to do all the things we’d want to try out!

I was always a massive tomboy when I was a kid, and most of my best friends, even now, are male. I played football, climbed trees, wore Thomas the Tank Engine jumpers (!) but I grew to learn that it is okay to do these things as a girl. My younger sister is very much the same.

I suppose it becomes an issue if your gender really begins to upset you, or you feel as though you’re ‘in the wrong skin’. If this is the case, it is definitely worth a chat with someone you trust, or a health professional.

Hi Leonking123. I have always been very happy being a girl – and proud to be a girl in a job where there are a lot of men! But as Mae said, gender dysmorphia is a real medical condition, and people with this condition have been born with the wrong private parts, because everything else inside them tells them they are not the sex they were born.

Your sex is a very complicated thing, made up not only of what you have between your legs! But also all the chemical reactions that go on in your body.

I don’t think anyone should ashamed by their sex..I believe person becomes wellknown by its deeds and not by their sex..so do your best in any field and you will get appreciation and it doesn’t matter whehter u are boy or girl…
