Vets are involved in a mix of animal science and medical science. They need to be able to understand the differences between lots of animals so they can understand what’s wrong with them (a sick lizard is very different from a sick hamster, which will be very different to a sick horse), they also need to understand the different behaviours of the animals, and their needs (for example, diets). Then they need to be able to treat the animals with the right drugs (that’s where the medical part comes in) and know what doses to give, and how to operate.

There’s a lot to remember. If you’re thinking about a vet as a career, you need to work really hard at biology at school, you also need to be good at chemistry, physics and maths. There are only a few universities in the country that teach it so you need to have really good grade but if you work hard I’m sure you can do it. Go for it!

Vets are basically doctor of animals….they need to learn everything about animals…their behaviour, habitat, normal and abnormal state of animals…their in-life conditions…their emotional behaviour…difference between healthy and sick animal..etc…

It is really good subject…and I am sure there are few universities run courses on this…All the best..
