      Icebergs are bits of ice which have broken off from massive ice sheets and glaciers, like the ones you find in the Arctic and Antarctic. The ice sheets and glaciers are formed from thousands of years of compacted snow.

      Fire is hot because it is the result of a chemical reaction. By heating the wood (or whatever you are burning) you break bonds which hold the atoms together. When the bond breaks this releases energy in the form of heat.
