Interestingly, in the womb, all babies start out with the same genitals – they are neither boy nor girl. Once male hormone production begins after the 7th week of pregnancy, the body begins to steer genital development either towards those of a male or a female.

If male hormone is detected, you become a boy. If it isn’t, you become a girl. Some male fetuses are unable to detect male hormones, and in this case they develop a condition called Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. This results in the genitals having a female appearance, despite the child being male.

They start developing during mother’s womb..but those parts won’t have any sexual hormone production until maturity….Sexual hormones start producing after 10-11 years of age and male and female have sense of those private parts..this age varies in boys and girls..and it will take some years to get fully matured…
